Grants Program

The DIMO Ignite Grants Program is a catalyst for the DIMO ecosystem. We provide milestone-based funding to builders contributing to infrastructure and apps that make DIMO more useful and scalable.

Request for Proposals

If you want to build something that contributes to the DIMO Network, we want to hear from you! We’ve listed some project areas that we find particularly interesting below, but please apply regardless of what you’ve dreamed up!

  • The current limited support for vehicles and data sources is a barrier to adoption for DIMO. By broadening the pool of vehicles and data sources, we can make DIMO more accessible to drivers and more valuable to app developers and data consumers… Read the entire RFP

  • This RFP is looking for projects that will develop new and innovative ways to use DIMO data to improve the lives of drivers, fleet managers and other stakeholders in the automotive industry… Read the entire RFP

  • Verifiable credentials exist in silos. DIMO believes that issuing and verifying credentials on-chain can create interesting new opportunities for developer applications and open automobile financing. For instance, what credentials must be brought on chain to create a decentralized taxi, uber, or turo product with lower take rates?

  • We’re looking to improve on multiple different areas of DIMO payments. Today users may have difficulty finding ways to pay for goods and services with $DIMO tokens, service providers may have difficulty accepting payments in $DIMO tokens, and there is plenty of infrastructure that can be built to help streamline our marketplace payouts to users, node operators, and the DIMO protocol… Read the entire RFP

  • Historically, it’s been difficult for developers to access vehicle and driving data across a broad number of cars, on a single platform, to make interesting games and social experiences… Read the entire RFP

  • There are a number of challenges that DIMO faces when scaling and localizing the DIMO Marketplace… Read the entire RFP

  • There is a growing demand for applications that can help drivers to better understand their travel habits. However, there aren’t many applications or services that surface this data in a clear, useful, or entertaining way… Read the entire RFP

  • As the DIMO protocol continues to grow, we’d love to be inspired by new marketplace partners or applications that can leverage DIMO’s unique data set to create incredible user experiences. If you want to build a DIMO-powered application, we want to hear from you… Read the entire RFP

  • Automated driving data is a valuable resource for developing new products and services, and for improving existing ones. However, there are a number of challenges that need to be addressed in order to make automated driving data more accessible and useful… Read the entire RFP

Application Process

In your application, be sure to clarify how your project creates sustainable value for the DIMO network. If you are applying to a listed RFP, please call that out in your application. Grants are milestone-based, so thoughtful applications will include suggested milestones for funding.

  • Quick Pitch: Applicants fill out applications to get early feedback on their proposal.

  • Full Proposal: Applicants are invited to present a full proposal if their concept meets the guiding criteria and is viewed as potentially high-impact.

  • Accepted: Ignite team works with Applicants to set exit criteria, provide feedback, and set them up for success.

Criteria For Evaluation

We love to see a broad diversity of ideas in grant applications. But, there are a few things we look for in all grantees. When determining whether your project proposal fits the bill for an Ignite grant, be sure it meets the following criteria:

  • Clear use of funds: Grantees must have a well-defined execution plan and exit criteria.

  • Ability to execute: Grantees must demonstrate their qualifications and plan to complete their work.

  • Impact: Projects should create measurable effects on the DIMO protocol and ecosystem, generating value beyond the grant period.
